講座內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介：
Dr. Kara Warburton will introduce the concept of terminology management as a relatively unknown yet rapidly growing vocation of interest to translators, business communicators, and other practicing linguists. More and more companies are starting to "manage terminology" and they are seeking skilled terminologists. Translation students entering the workforce would be wise to have some knowledge and experience in this area. Dr. Warburton will present some of the fundamental principles, methods, and tools that are used by translators and other language professionals to develop and manage terminology as a language resource.
主講人簡(jiǎn)介：
Dr. Kara Warburton is an internationally-recognized expert on Terminology Management. Holding a PhD in Linguistics (City University of HongKong), and three university degrees from Canada in Translation, Terminology, and Education, she also has over 25 years of experience working as a linguist for a long list of commercial enterprises. For 15 years she has been contributing to international standards for the language industry, and currently holds the position of Chair of ISO Technical Committee 37.
